JACK+JILL was originally formed by Aaron Seibert: Jack (Guitars & Vocals) and wife Jessica Seibert: Jill (Violins & Vocals) as an acoustic duo to share their love for music, and make a little extra coin. They have been performing as JACK+JILL since their marriage in the summer of 2007. In the beginning it was small and easy. Just the 2 of them performing small venues, restraunts and a few small fair and festival type events. It was a good time for writing, and reflecting on lifes new changes with marraige, and soon to be kids.
They bought a portable 32 track digital recorder and started recording the music they wrote, they also had many fun nights just recording random jam sessions with friends. And all the while performing their shows- gaining some seemingly well deserved, popularity. What the fans saw is what was real. It was simple to see: a Colorado couple who made great music, and performed it well... With love for their craft and for each other they crossed the line of the typical "rockers" and subsecuently, remained approachable. They were seen as something else, something they couldnt put their finger on, but they knew they loved it! What they didn't realize was that they we're gaining an underground fan base that would soon bring more demands on JACK+JILL. As they were finishing up their first album "Into the Open", they realized, the music they were writing and recording was filled with many other instruments, and knew the performances needed to reflect and compliment the album- They had to get more instrumentation onto the stage, the band must get bigger. And so the expansion began, first with just drums, and bass... Soon after the keyboard would enter the picture and complete the full sound at that time.
Aaron and Jess finished up their debut album in the summer of 2009 and it went quadruple platinum in 3 days... lol ok not really =] But it was well recieved by fans, and the local press, praising the album and couple for it, and their impact on the local music scene. They were gigging constantly, being called for many large local events to play. Many call backs from venues they had played in before. They were starting to realize the true potential that they had layed before them. The fans kept rolling in, and the success was climbing, The bands material, and performances gained both popularity and strength, as the band began a stint of shows that hasn't stopped since. They performed many large festivals like Powellapalooza and Rock Jam as well as opened up for bands such as Everclear, and EVE6, and were put on the front page of local newspaper and interviewed on TV on several occasions. Things were looking great for the couple and they floated on fortunate times.
Since the first album, they have made 2 more albums, "Brightest Star in the Nightmare", 2011, stretches further the boundries of what can be made from the couple. The generas on the album include- not limited to... and in no particular order are: Alternative, Hip Hop, Folk, Country, Reggea, Rock, Heavy Metal, Progressive, Pop, Psychedelic, Grunge... get the picture? With the same response, came the masses. Another round of press and publicity from local media, an impressive national music review, and again scored more large show oppurtunities.
The third full length album, "COLORADiO LP" (2015) is the best to date. A truely impressionable sound races to your ears within seconds of playing the LP and the hook sinks in. There is 12 tracks on this disc, and everyone has a "Oh my, this is the next Hit Single" feel. A very rootsy, alternative type sound is prevelant on this album, more of a truer sound. The album also is extremely tight, their best produced so far, however it has an organic, almost live feel is overwhelmingly welcome to hear as well. A fan favorite, as the merch box is being stocked after every show with all the love COLORADiO can bring!
Today the couple is writing and recording still. Working on a fourth album, and always gigging like crazy. They are honing in on what the new album, and new sound of JACK+JILL will be, and what they will bring to the table. JACK+JILL is a band that will stand the test of time, based in family ties, they are here to stay. After listening to their albums, it’s nice to know that they are a real couple, playing in their home, and recording in the most humble of recording studios, in their basement, out west in the high desert of Colorado. They will be a band to recognize, to receive and to remember.
"WE WRITE MUSIC THAT IS AT TIMES IS SAD, AND OTHER TIMES OBSCURE, BUT IT IS ALWAYS WRITTEN FROM THE HEART AND SOUL, FOR THIS IS THE WAY INWHICH WE ARE ALL INSPIRED AND TOUCHED. WE WRITE MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU FEEL CONFIDENT, AND YET MUSIC THAT LEAVES YOU VULNERABLE, MUSIC THAT SPEAKS TO THE MASSES. IT IS... AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE LITERAL AND METAPHORICAL UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE MUSIC!"
